Frequently Asked Questions
I am looking at your price ranges. How can you have up to a $100,000 variance?
It may seem impossible but lot costs can vary the foundation by that much alone. Imagine a foundation on a mountain side in North Carolina that has to be 3 stories tall. Compare that to a slab foundation in Texas.
Other things like kitchen and bath cabinetry upgrades can easily up the price $15,000. We know of one customer who spent $85,000 more just on custom cabinets and plumbing fixtures.
Other popular options are
- Change from 8" to 10" logs. That's usually $15,000 to $25,000 more.
- Lots of people finish off the basement. Usually they have a bar area, 2nd fireplace, bedrooms and another bathroom. That can easily add costs of $20,000 to $80,000.
- Windows can be ordered with a knotty alder interior, special color, and maybe some unique grills too! These could be thousands of dollars extra.
- We also offer a pre-finishing option and that usually increases the package price by $10,000 or so.
Now you can see that having a price range of that much is not improbable or impossible.
