Cost Example:
The following is an example of what costs are involved in building a Golden Eagle full log home like the Double Eagle plan. Every building lot is unique, that's why it's so hard to price out a home without hours of estimating. The estimate also varies depending on how much labor you want to do yourself.

- The Double Eagle Package Price in 8”x8” “D” tongue and groove full log is $193,446 plus tax of $10,639.53 for a total of $204,085.53.
- Let’s start with the building permit. $2,000 is pretty common, the price can range from $25 to $6,500.
- To dig and backfill your basement will cost about $3,500. If you are in rock or clay, it will be more. Tree removal will also be extra.
- Most concrete basements with footings and foundation insulation for the house will be around $23,500. Drain tile will add more, if your lot requires it.
- This is a full log home example, but the interior partition walls still need wall coverings like knotty pine tongue and groove and drywall. Typical costs for this will vary depending on how much of each are used, but let’s estimate $7,800.

- $8,775 is the plumbing figure including the water heater. Remember the fixtures, tub, sinks, stainless steel kitchen sink, faucets, etc. are in the standard package price.
- Forced air heat and central air with labor $12,000.
- Electrical labor and materials are $11,742. Remember we include an $850 lighting allowance for light fixtures in the standard package.
- We have a $2,000 wood flooring allowance in the package, but you will still need to purchase an additional $8,000 more in carpet, tile, etc.
- The labor to stone the fireplace is $3,500.
- The general carpenter labor should cost $90,000. This could be high or low depending on your area, and how much you want to do yourself.

TOTAL COST OF ABOVE IS $374,902.53. You will also need to add for well, septic, land, stain labor, landscaping, appliances, and financing costs. Only you will know these costs for your specific area. These figures are based on our peeled 8”x8” #2 profile full log package. We are not saying your home will cost exactly this much, but since we are involved in so many homes each year, we have a very good idea of what it may cost to build this home.
Typically customers who buy a larger, more upscale home, like this Double Eagle add in many options and features. Additional costs for things such as home security systems, granite countertops, high end faucets, and central vacuum system will add more cost to this example.
