Stunning Off-Grid Log Cabin Interior

This multi-story remote log cabin floor plan has an upper level and a lower level, with a total of five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. Built with a combination of round logs and hand-hewn timber details, including stunning trusses, this off-grid log house features exquisite wood details throughout. Vaulted ceilings and large windows add a spacious dimension to the home, as they let in plenty of natural light. Lake views provide a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere from just about anywhere in the home. Let’s take a look at the interior spaces of this remote log cabin, starting with the main floor.

Main Level of the Isolated Log Cabin

  • Mechanical Room: The tour of this off-grid log cabin home begins in the mechanical room, which serves an important purpose. This isolated log cabin is equipped with a solar panel outside and battery banks inside, as it’s entirely solar-powered. This room features in-floor heating and all the devices that allow electricity to flow through the home and power all of the appliances and lighting. This solar-powered log cabin has a backup generator in case of a power disruption.
  • Great Room: The stunning great room is the perfect gathering space in the off-grid log cabin home, as its open floor layout connects to the dining area and kitchen. The focal point of the room is the large stone fireplace that tapers in at the top. The prow-shaped feature wall has 12 large windows and provides panoramic views of the lake and outdoors. Plenty of natural light flows into the space during the day. The vaulted ceiling gives the room an airy and open feel and allows enough space for a loft area.
  • Dining Room: The dining area also has expansive windows with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This space seamlessly flows into the great room, which has wood walls as well. A gorgeous chandelier above the dining room table adds to the rustic character of this log and timber home.
  • Three Seasons Room: The dining room leads into a three seasons room with a cozy daybed, a fireplace, and adjustable windows with screens that can be opened. Sliding doors lead out to a balcony with space for a table to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. This room, in particular, exemplifies the connection with nature, as it can be used during the fall, spring, and summer. The three seasons room is a unique space in this off-grid log cabin plan.
  • Kitchen: This beautiful kitchen features an island with hand-hewn timbers on the supporting edges. The island can be used when entertaining, as there is some seating. Hanging pendant lights above the island add to the ambiance of this room. This kitchen has high-end stainless steel appliances, including an oven range, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Other materials like quartz are used in the countertops. This complements the herringbone backsplash and the rustic alder wood cabinets. There is plenty of storage space, with a walk-in pantry and lots of cabinets. A wood barn door leads into the mudroom from the kitchen, adding character to this off-grid log cabin plan.
  • Mudroom: Located off the garage, the mudroom is the perfect drop zone for boots, shoes, jackets, and coats. It has a built-in cubby area with a bench, coat hooks, and storage for shoes, gloves, and hats. There is also a closet where winter coats can be stored. This space in the secluded log cabin also has countertops and cabinets for additional storage.
  • Master Bedroom & Bathroom: The master bedroom has large windows overlooking the lake. Unlike the rest of this isolated log cabin home, this room has drywall instead of wood walls. The windows are framed with timber, and the wood ceiling adds to the cohesive aesthetic. The master suite also features a large walk-in closet and a spacious master bathroom. In this space, you'll see timber shelving and beautiful lighting fixtures. There is an incredible walk-in shower with tilework, custom cabinetry for added storage, and a private toilet area with two windows that add natural light.
  • Foyer: The entryway of the off-grid log cabin home features a beautiful front door and a coat closet for guests. A half bath is located right near the foyer as well. The wood craftsmanship is also prominent in this foyer area, with half-log stairs leading to the upper level and the lower level.

Upper Level of the Rustic Off-Grid Cabin

The second level of this isolated log cabin features a spacious loft area, two additional bedrooms, and a bathroom.

  • Loft Area: As mentioned above, this off-grid log cabin has a loft space with a view of the great room. This cozy loft area is basically an extra living room that is its own space but is still connected to the activities of the home. The loft has timber accent trusses and four windows.
  • Two Bedrooms: The upper level of the remote log cabin has two more bedrooms, one on either side of the loft. These bedrooms feature built-in shelves, window seats, and large walk-in closets. A laundry chute goes all the way to the lower level, where the laundry room is located. Angled wood walls add to the visual appeal of this rustic, off-grid cabin.
  • Bathroom: There is a bathroom on the second floor of this log and timber home with a walk-in shower, quartz countertop, and custom cabinetry. The flooring and shower walls also use the angled style.

Lower Level of the Remote Log Cabin

The fully finished walk-out basement is a great space for entertaining and has patio doors that lead outside. The lower level of the secluded log cabin features an additional dining space, an entertainment area with a fireplace, couches, and a TV, a pool table, a bar area with a beverage refrigerator, two more bedrooms with windows, a bathroom, and a laundry room.

Beautiful Secluded Log Cabin Exterior

This incredible off-grid log cabin exterior features shiplap, wood, stone, and metal accents. From the outside, this secluded log cabin stands out with its feature wall of windows and the balcony off of the three seasons room. Stone and hand-hewn timber columns add support. The front entrance is impressive, with a gable-covered porch and transom windows above the front door. This off-grid log cabin is built to last with maintenance-free decking and aluminum railing. The garage also has a gable that is incorporated with a timber truss.
