Interior of the Luxurious Log Home

The main floor of the custom log home is warm and welcoming, featuring rustic design elements, vaulted ceilings, beautiful timber trusses over the kitchen area, large windows on both sides of the home, and a great space for gathering. Let’s explore the highlights of the open floor plan and the other features of the main level of the Timber Lake ranch-style log home.

  • Great Room: A feature wall full of floor-to-ceiling windows is the highlight of the great room. The stone fireplace makes a statement with its gorgeous mantle and raised hearth for additional seating.
  • Kitchen & Dining Area: This luxurious log cabin features a kitchen like no other. Designed with functionality in mind, the homeowners added unique details to this space. There are two islands, one for prep and the other for serving food and entertaining. Custom cabinetry with popout drawers, deep drawers for storing pots and pans, and storage for spices and liquor are just a few of the custom features. There is a coffee bar area around the corner of the kitchen. High-end appliances, like a 42-inch wide French door refrigerator and freezer unit, a steam oven, a conventional oven, an induction cooktop, a warming drawer, a beverage refrigerator, a microwave drawer, and two dishwashers, are seamlessly integrated into the cabinetry. A white-wash ceiling finish adds a great contrast to the timber trusses. Situated off the kitchen, the dining room table has a beautiful chandelier above, which fits perfectly below the timber truss.
  • The Master Suite: The master bedroom and bathroom in this luxurious log cabin were designed with soft tones to be serene and relaxing, giving this area a spa-like atmosphere. The master bedroom features drywall with decorative ombre wall finishes, white timber trusses, a custom built-in with nightstands and shelving, and a private soaking tub. Panoramic views of the lake are provided by angled floor-to-ceiling windows. The views continue in the master bathroom, with 22 feet of glass windows. His and her vanities with marble countertops are designed in a way that does not obstruct the view. The bathroom also features a walk-in shower and large closets with cabinet organizer systems. In-floor heating adds to the sense of luxury in this Timber Lake log home.
  • Additional Bedroom Suite: The main level of this Timber Lake ranch-style log cabin has an additional suite suitable for older relatives. This bedroom has a reclaimed barn board feature wall, which adds to the rustic aesthetic of the luxury log home. Three large windows with two windows up in the gable let in plenty of natural light and allow for a vaulted ceiling in this room. The homeowners decided to make the walk-in closet into an additional bedroom area, separated by barn doors.
  • Guest Bathroom: Conveniently located off the mudroom and near the guest bedroom suite, this bathroom has beautiful cabinetry and countertops and features a tub, perfect to accommodate grandchildren as they come in from the lake.
  • Mudroom & Laundry Area: Right off the garage is the laundry room and mudroom drop zone. The laundry area has a high-end washer and dryer, cabinets, and countertops. The mudroom features built-in lockers and benches with coat hangers above and shoe storage below.
  • Garage: This luxury log cabin features unique garage spaces. Golden Eagle’s talented designers suggested using Spancrete to build a separate garage underneath the existing garage on the main level. There are three stalls above and three stalls on the lower level of the home. Each garage space features epoxy flooring, in-floor heating, and 10-foot ceilings. The homeowners can use the space above to park their cars and the space below to store ATVs, motorcycles, and more.

Lower Level of the Custom Log & Timber Frame Lake House

This Timber Lake ranch log home features a finished walk-out basement with 10-foot ceilings and large windows allowing for views of both lakes. The basement blends rustic and industrial styles and provides additional living space, more bedrooms, and bathrooms for hosting, as well as a bar, living room, and a pool table.

  • Lower Level Garage: As mentioned above, a second garage area is located on this lower level. This space is ideal for storing toys, snowmobiles, tractors, and more. The lower garage is flexible and can also be used to build a home theater or a gym.
  • 3 More Bedrooms: The lower level of the luxurious log cabin includes three additional bedrooms, each with its own distinct style. One of the bedrooms has double barn doors that lead into a bunk area with a full bed, a queen bed, and a twin bed above. Both of these areas have decorative wall finishes. Two more bedrooms are located on the other side of the basement and feature expansive windows. One of these bedrooms has a decorative wall finish that looks like bark, and two of the walls have 10-inch double-hewn wood, while the other bedroom has wood on all four walls and the ceiling.
  • Two Bathrooms: A full bath is located between the two bedrooms and features an ombre effect like the master suite. The other lower-level bathroom has his and her sinks, rustic alder cabinetry, a private powder room, and a private shower area.
  • Basement Great Room: The lower level has its own living area, with a bar, a pool table, and a gas fireplace. The bar area was custom-built to display the homeowner’s collection of vintage motorcycle gas tanks. There is lighting in each shelving unit. They chose to include a commercial bar with a wood countertop that has a custom design of the lakes, which makes for a great conversation piece. A canopy roof system over the bar area makes this space cozy and unique. There is hand-hewn wood, stone, and drywall throughout the lower level of the log and timber frame lake house.

Other features in the lower level of the luxurious log cabin are the stairs leading to the upper level, which have a craftsman style with a double railing. The entire lower level has in-floor heat, and the flooring is a durable tile made to look like wood. Walk-out doors and large floor-to-ceiling windows feature insulated glass.

Smart home features are used throughout the home, allowing the lighting to be controlled by a smartphone. You can turn lights on and off and adjust the amount of light during the day and night.

Exterior Features of the Luxury Log House

The exterior of this custom log home is just as impressive as the interior. It features all kinds of materials, from 10-inch double-hewn half-log siding, natural quarry stone, large timber trim around the doors and windows, and metal railings. Precision dovetail corners, timber trusses, and covered porches add to the character of the luxury log home. The double gable system is supported by stone columns. A large covered porch area extends the width of the home, and there is an area for outdoor grilling and entertaining. The deck was built lower to ensure that the railings didn’t obstruct the view from the great room.
