Main Level of the Log Cabin Lake House
- Kitchen: The gorgeous kitchen has a large two-tier island with seating on one side, while the other side is for food preparation. Built-in outlets are perfect for appliances like a slow cooker or a blender. A lighter color scheme was used throughout this log cabin lake house. Custom rustic hickory cabinetry was selected for this lakeside log cabin, and the ceiling finish is four-inch wood planking. High-end appliances make this a chef’s kitchen.
- Dining Room: The kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining area. A large dining room table has a bench at either end, perfect for kids. During the design process, the design team made sure that there was enough space between the island seating and the dining room table so that people could sit in both places comfortably.
- Great Room: Impressive vaulted ceilings as high as 23 feet draw the eye with beautiful wood beams. An incredible stone fireplace has custom-built-ins, log storage, and an increased hearth height. A prow feature wall with 10 windows lets in plenty of natural light and views of the stunning lake on one side. There is an additional feature wall on the entry side of the lakefront log cabin facing the other lake.
- Laundry Room: Situated near the garage, the laundry room features a high-end washer and dryer, a sink, a large countertop, and the same cabinetry that was in the kitchen. The backsplash appears to be a tile finish but is actually a faux finish that was painted. It was designed to complement the tile floor.
- Garage: The attached garage is located near the half bathroom and laundry room, and not too far from the kitchen, perfect for bringing in groceries. This lake house log cabin has a three-stall garage on the main level of the home.
- Powder Room: The powder room is perfectly situated off the garage and near the door that leads out to the beachfront side of the home. This half bath features a combination of wood planking on the walls with finished drywall. The theme of lighter colors continues in this space with the cabinetry and countertop.
- Master Suite: The master suite is its own separate wing of the lakeview log cabin home. The master bedroom features a special wall finish with chinking between the logs. Three walls feature this detail, while the fourth has drywall with a faux finish applied to it, allowing for a variety of colors, like metallics, and textures like pine cones and pine tree branches. Glass doors lead out to a huge private balcony off the master bedroom. Natural light continues to flow into this space in the master bath with a large window overlooking the incredible lake view. The master bathroom features a large soaking tub, double vanity sinks, and custom cabinetry for plenty of storage. There is also a walk-in closet in the master bedroom.
Upper Level of the Lake Log Cabin
On the second level of this lake house log cabin, you’ll find a cozy and spacious loft area and another bedroom with a bathroom.
- Loft Area: This large extra living room area is very distinctive because of the open railings on both sides and the feature walls that let in natural light. The stone fireplace continues all the way up to the loft area. Cathedral ceilings with inverted valleys and eight-inch logs run up to the peak of the lake log home.
- Guest Bedroom Suite: Off the loft area, you’ll find a guest suite. This guest bedroom has two large gable dormers, which look beautiful inside and also add character to the exterior of the lake log cabin. Wood walls continue in this space with a faux finish on one wall. The bathroom also features a faux finish wall.
Finished Lower Level of the Lakeside Log Cabin
This lakeside log cabin has additional living space on the lower level. This walk-out feature wall has glass doors that lead out to the lake. With additional bedrooms and bathrooms for hosting guests and entertainment space, this fully finished basement is just as inviting as the main level.
- Family Room: The finished basement features nine-foot ceilings, large windows, stone wainscoting with 10-inch half log siding above, and other walls featuring eight-inch tongue and groove planking and drywall with custom painting that matches the design on the couch pillows. The lower level also has a stone fireplace that features personalized details with a hand-carved mantel of the family’s lake house and boat. There’s a bear carved into a post for an extra detail. For entertainment and relaxation, this lake log home has an area with a pool table and a hot tub on one side of the basement.
- Three More Bedrooms: The lower level of the lakeview log cabin has three additional bedrooms, and each has its own distinctive style. Different wall finishes are used to add to the decor in each room. The homeowners wanted additional bedrooms to host guests.
- Bathroom: A full bathroom in the basement has a large window, a double vanity, and custom cabinetry.
- Kitchenette: The finished basement has a kitchenette with custom cabinetry and countertops, an island with seating, a sink, refrigerator, and a microwave.
- Subterranean Garage: This garage is below the primary garage on the main level of the lake log cabin. This space is great for additional storage for beach toys and outdoor furniture. It has three stalls similar to the garage above.
