by, Zachary Parmeter

Explore this rustic log cabin lodge to see gorgeous wood craftsmanship, beautiful views, plenty of living space, and high-end amenities. This single-story log home lodge boasts 4,200 square feet of living space. An open floor concept connects the great room, dining area, and kitchen for a central gathering area, ideal for entertaining. This rustic lodge log home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, an office space, and a fully finished basement. The rustic log cabin lodge blends perfectly with its setting, as it’s located along a lake. Large windows maximize the view of the surroundings and let in plenty of natural light.

Interior of the Rustic Lodge Log Cabin

Let’s explore the rustic log cabin interior, starting with the main level.

  • Great Room: The great room has vaulted ceilings that reach up to 21 feet at its peak. The highlight of the great room is the massive stone fireplace, which spans all the way up to the ceiling. There are firewood boxes built in on either side, which is convenient so you don’t have to go outside to get wood in the winter. The mantel is a hand-hewn timber with metal accents, including a laser cutout of a moose and an elk. Above the mantel, there is a TV and above that a moose, which adds a dramatic impact as you walk into this space. Large windows on both sides of the fireplace allow natural light to flow throughout the great room, dining area, and kitchen. Timber trusses and wood beams add to the character of this rustic log cabin home. The front covered porch is lower down, so it doesn’t obstruct the view of the lake from the great room. Vertical timber posts with a hand-hewn finish are below the accent trusses. They catch your eye and draw it up to the vaulted ceiling.
  • Dining Area: The same style of timber accents continues into the dining room. This space is shaped like an octagon with windows that provide 180-degree views. This shape allows for a large seven-foot-long rectangular custom dining room table with a glass piece that resembles the river. An elk chandelier above adds to the decor of this rustic lodge log home. Custom metal artwork is cut into the brackets in the timber trusses, featuring an elk, a bear, and a moose.
  • Kitchen: The kitchen is absolutely stunning with a unique stone range hood that goes all the way to the ridge beam, making a statement with an elk. Below this is a 36-inch oven range with an induction cooktop. A gorgeous two-tiered island is in the center of the kitchen, featuring a sink, a dishwasher, and plenty of storage space. The other side of the island features bar-height seating. Other appliances include a high-end touchscreen refrigerator and a warming drawer to keep food warm. The backsplash features traditional-sized subway tile that looks like metalwork. Custom rustic hickory cabinetry with a warm brown tone ties into the browns in the stone and tile on the floor. A moose is embedded into the tiling, adding to the overall theme of the rustic log home lodge.
  • Garage: This rustic log cabin has a large attached garage that features heated floors, a utility sink, in-floor drains, and a hose for washing off cars and snowmobiles. The large insulated garage doors are extra tall, perfect for a full-sized truck. The finished garage has wainscoting with angled tongue and groove siding, rustic hickory cabinets, a storage area for gear and shoes, and a carpeted area where the homeowners can put on all the snowmobile gear.
  • Bathroom: A full bathroom is located off the garage. The vanity has a chipped finished edge, a rectangular sink bowl, and Venetian brown sink and shower faucets. The shower tile features dark browns and coppers, and grays that match the countertops. This bathroom has a vaulted ceiling and a combination of drywall with wood planking. The shower wall doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling, allowing some natural light to spill into the shower area.
  • Guest Bedroom: On the main floor of the rustic log cabin home is a guest bedroom with two queen-sized beds set up as bunks. There is a walk-in closet for storage separated by a barn door. The vaulted ceiling in this room allows for a loft, and there is a ladder leading up to it. Up in the loft area, a large window provides natural light, and there is a full-size bed and a gaming area on the other side.
  • Laundry Room: The laundry room is conveniently located near the bedrooms and has some unique features like an in-wall ironing board that folds away when not in use and a pocket door to separate the washer and dryer. The washing machine and dryer are smart feature-enabled and will send notifications to your phone when a load is done. Granite countertops, custom hickory cabinets, tile floor, and wood walls make this space cohesive with the rest of the rustic log cabin lodge.
  • Master Suite: The master bedroom uses a combination of materials like wainscoting and pre-finished tongue and groove wood around the base, with a drywall finish. There are large windows that allow for natural light and doors that lead out to the wraparound deck. Smart-enabled fans and lights can be scheduled to turn on and off at different times. A rustic pine door leads into the master bathroom. The double vanity has the same rectangular sink bowls and chipped countertop edge as the other bathroom. The walk-in shower has two shower heads and light colored tile. A spacious walk-in closet is connected to the master bath and features built-in cubby areas and plenty of storage, including an additional linen cabinet. Under the cabinets, there is a motion light. Back in the bedroom, lighting under the nightstands guides you to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The master suite is separated from the main living area, and a hallway leads to the office space.
  • Office: The rustic lodge log home has an office with large windows and an incredible view of the lake. A u-shaped desk has space for two work stations, with a monitor in each corner. Granite countertops add a sense of luxury to the office area, and there are tall cabinets for storage.

Finished Lower Level of the Rustic Log & Timber Frame Lodge

This rustic log cabin lodge has a fully finished basement, with large windows and walk-out doors that lead to the outdoor living area and lake. The stairwell has wood walls and a caribou at the top of the stairs as you walk down. Carpeted stairs with lights on each of the treads lead down to the basement. On the lower level of the rustic lodge log home, there is additional parking, bedrooms, a bathroom, a living space, a kitchen, and a special vault room. The lower level is great for hosting family, as they can have this entire space to themselves. Let’s explore the finished basement in this rustic log and timber frame lodge home.

  • Lower Level Parking: There is additional parking on the lower level, making it easy for guests to bring in their luggage.
  • Two Bedrooms: One of the bedrooms on the lower level has a queen-sized bed and large windows that provide a view of the lake. This room has a balance of drywall with tongue and groove wood planking on the walls. The same tongue and groove planking is on the ceiling. This bedroom has a closet. The other bedroom in the basement has two queen beds bunked on top of each other, with a walk-in closet and a vanity area with a countertop where guests can charge their phones and place luggage.
  • Bathroom: In this log lodge home, the basement has a full bathroom with a tub and shower unit, a large linen closet, and the same countertops as upstairs.
  • Basement Great Room: The lower level of the rustic log cabin lodge has its own living area, perfect for entertaining. While a wood-burning fireplace is on the main level, the basement has an electric fireplace with a raised hearth. Like the fireplace upstairs, it also has beautiful stonework for a blend of modern and rustic styles. A unique feature of this fireplace is that you can change the color of the flames. There is a hand-hewn fireplace chaise with a lot of great metal accents and cutouts of moose and elk. Each side of the fireplace has six-foot-wide patio doors, which let in a lot of light and give access to the outdoor living area.
  • Kitchen: The basement of the rustic lodge log home has an additional kitchen with an island. The island has seating for five with beautiful pendant lighting above. There is plenty of storage space with a pantry and rustic hickory cabinetry that is similar to the main kitchen. A gorgeous backsplash with metallic elements adds color to the space. In the basement, there is a dining area with a pub table in the same octagon space that is located above.
  • Vault Room: This rustic lodge log cabin home has a unique vault room space that is used as a wine room. It also doubles as a safe room with concrete on the ceiling, floor, and all four walls. There is a timber seating area and wood planking that came from the homeowner’s third-generation dairy farm. Pendant lighting adds to the aesthetic of the space and showcases the copper accents on the ceiling.

Exterior Features of the Rustic Log Home Lodge

The rustic log cabin lodge has a gorgeous exterior, featuring maintenance-free woodgrain lap siding. Stone posts, metal railings, and timber accents give this home its rustic charm. The outdoor living area features a covered porch area with an outdoor fireplace. There is also a fire pit on the property.

As mentioned above, this rustic log home lodge is smart-home enabled, featuring lighting and appliances that can be controlled by a smartphone. You can even lock the home remotely or close the garage door.
