Mountain Chalet Floor Plan

The Mountain Chalet is a luxury log cabin home plan of breathtaking secluded grandeur, a residence conceived for those who seek the extraordinary combination of dramatic natural views, authentic log craftsmanship, and an interior of genuine sophistication that reveals layer after layer of thoughtful design at every turn. Built high atop a commanding property with panoramic vistas that stretch across lakes, mountains, and woodlands, the real world expression of this custom log home design features ten foot wall heights, a seven foot diameter chandelier anchoring the great room, a wraparound covered porch with saddle notch corners and log posts ranging up to 22 inches in diameter, custom double entry doors with hand crafted metal clavicle work and an arch top, and a detached accessory garage of extraordinary character that rivals the home itself in finish quality and architectural presence.

The open concept great room is a masterpiece of natural light and design intention, with windows on three sides, ten-foot wall heights, a centrally positioned stone fireplace, a massive TV wall flanked by two soaring windows, and a seven-foot chandelier casting a beautiful soft glow across the entire space. The L-shaped kitchen opens to a screened porch of exceptional volume, with vaulted ceilings, massive log framing, and the full flexibility of a three seasons living area that connects seamlessly to the wraparound covered porch beyond. The primary bedroom suite is a private sanctuary positioned exclusively on the second level to maximize views from every angle, featuring a gable wall filled entirely with windows including custom operable awning units, a custom bookshelf with ladder for window hardware access, rain glass entry doors, a corner whirlpool tub, a custom walk-in shower, dual vanities, and a generously proportioned walk-in closet of outstanding quality. A guest bedroom suite with its own full bathroom, a powder room, and a first-floor laundry room with a vaulted ceiling, utility sink, and pocket door for privacy complete the main level with effortless sophistication.

The Mountain Chalet is available in two versions, over 2,000 square feet without the lower level, or over 3,500 square feet with the optional walkout basement, which has been roughed in for an additional bathroom and offers a wealth of flexible living space ready to be finished to your most personal vision. With 2 bedrooms to 3 bedrooms and 3 to 4 bathrooms depending on configuration, and the option to add an attached or detached garage of virtually any size, this luxury mountain home floor plan is as adaptable as it is architecturally distinguished. The detached accessory garage featured in the video tour is a remarkable example of what Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes can achieve, complete with exposed beam elements, industrial metal brackets, EV charging, a full sound system, wood ceilings, and matching exterior finishes that make it a seamless and stunning extension of the home.

Mountain Chalet Floor Plan FAQs

I like the Main Floor (first floor) of the Mountain Chalet floor plan. But, I don't need a Loft (second floor) can I get a version without the loft (second floor)?
Yes. We can easily remove the loft, second floor, or a mezzanine. Thereby, converting the home to a ranch style home. (It may reduce the cost of the home as well.)

Can I make changes or customize the Mountain Chalet floor plan to add some features that I would like?
This is where we excel... All of our plans can be modified to meet your design goals. Every log and timber home we sell is custom tailored to your specific wants and needs. In fact, you could give us a hand drawn floor plan and we can engineer the plan specifically for you. Plans on our website are just starting points. Every home we sell ends up being a custom home.

What Construction Styles are available for the Mountain Chalet floor plan.
The Mountain Chalet floor plan above is shown as a Traditional Log Home Package (square timbers, full/round-log, half/round-log, and more). However, we can also offer this plan as any of the following construction types (also referred to as packages):

I like this floor plan. However, I would like it flipped the other way around. Can it be flipped?
Absolutely! All of our floor plans are able to be flipped or rotated in any orientation to match the property, sun exposure, and your personal preferences.

Can I add an attached garage to this plan?
Certainly! We can easily add an attached garage to the Mountain Chalet floor plan. Depending on the size of your property and the orientation of the home, you may be able to add several garage stalls.

The Mountain Chalet does not show a basement. Can I get this home with a basement (lower level)?
Yes. Adding a basement is quite simple. And, the added benefit of adding a basement is that it increases your square footage with minimal cost. If you think about it, all you are doing is adding a little more to the foundation and a few support walls and you have nearly doubled the square footage.
