Ski Home Prow I Floor Plan

The Ski Home Prow I is a small luxury log cabin home plan of breathtaking natural presence and exceptional adaptability, a beautifully composed custom log home design that was brought to extraordinary life in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado at over 9,000 feet of elevation, where its signature prow shaped glass wall delivers a panoramic view of snowcapped peaks that stops every visitor completely in their tracks. Originally derived from the celebrated Eagle Prow series and extensively customized by its Colorado homeowners, the Ski Home Prow I is a masterful demonstration of what becomes possible when a thoughtfully designed log home floor plan is paired with the full force of the Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes design team and an homeowner willing to pursue their most personal vision without compromise or hesitation.

The great room is an architectural jewel, anchored by the dramatic prow wall that commands a nearly 360-degree view and floods the interior with an extraordinary quality of natural light through awning windows specifically selected for their ability to preserve the view while allowing fresh mountain air to flow freely even on rainy days. A stone fireplace positioned along the side wall adds warmth and ambiance without interrupting the unobstructed sight lines of the prow, while hand hewn log tie beams span the great room ceiling with a craftsmanship and scale that perfectly complements the full saddle notch log construction of the exterior walls. The kitchen is appointed with darker toned cabinetry, granite countertops, a raised snack bar with live edge wood top and stone accent, and pendant lighting hung from each tie beam above, creating a gourmet kitchen environment of genuine rustic luxury and thoughtful functionality.

The first-floor primary bedroom suite features cathedral ceilings with log beams, oversized trim work, large mountain view windows, a beautifully tiled corner shower, a live edge vanity top, and a corner soaking tub with windows above that fill the space with soft natural light. A four seasons room with oversized operable windows and a private home office or study, each of which could serve as additional bedrooms, complete the main floor with remarkable flexibility and versatility. The optional lower-level functions as a virtually self-contained living space, featuring a family room with fireplace, a kitchenette, two bedroom suites each with their own bathroom and walk-in closet, a second laundry area, and walkout patio door access to an outdoor fire pit area, making it an ideal candidate for a premium short-term rental or a fully private guest wing.

The Ski Home Prow I is available in two versions, nearly 1,500 square feet without the lower level, or close to 3,000 square feet with the optional walkout basement, with 1 bedroom to 4 bedrooms and 2 to 4 bathrooms depending on configuration, and the option to add an attached or detached garage of any size. For those who seek a luxury mountain home floor plan where a commanding prow wall, panoramic views, authentic full log construction, and a deeply customizable open concept living experience come together in a footprint as well suited to a distinguished primary residence as it is to a premier luxury vacation home or income generating retreat, the Ski Home Prow I is one of the most proven and visually stunning dream home floor plans Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes has ever offered.

Ski Home Prow I Floor Plan FAQs

The Ski Home Prow I floor plan is great. But, I'd like more bedrooms. Can a second floor or a loft level be added to the Ski Home Prow I floor plan?.
Definitely! On most floor plans it is extremely easy to add a second floor or a loft. Note, The main floor floor plan may have to be altered a little bit to add space for a stairway. Note, Second floors or lofts are an extremely easy way to add square footage to home without adding a tremendous amount of cost. Because, the roof structure would remain virtually the same, you're just adding walls.

Can I make changes or customize the Ski Home Prow I floor plan to add some features that I would like?
This is where we excel... All of our plans can be modified to meet your design goals. Every log and timber home we sell is custom tailored to your specific wants and needs. In fact, you could give us a hand drawn floor plan and we can engineer the plan specifically for you. Plans on our website are just starting points. Every home we sell ends up being a custom home.

What Construction Styles are available for the Ski Home Prow I floor plan.
The Ski Home Prow I floor plan above is shown as a Traditional Log Home Package (square timbers, full/round-log, half/round-log, and more). However, we can also offer this plan as any of the following construction types (also referred to as packages):

I like this floor plan. However, I would like it flipped the other way around. Can it be flipped?
Absolutely! All of our floor plans are able to be flipped or rotated in any orientation to match the property, sun exposure, and your personal preferences.

Can I add an attached garage to this plan?
Certainly! We can easily add an attached garage to the Ski Home Prow I floor plan. Depending on the size of your property and the orientation of the home, you may be able to add several garage stalls.

The Ski Home Prow I does not show a basement. Can I get this home with a basement (lower level)?
Yes. Adding a basement is quite simple. And, the added benefit of adding a basement is that it increases your square footage with minimal cost. If you think about it, all you are doing is adding a little more to the foundation and a few support walls and you have nearly doubled the square footage.
