Rocky Mountain Floor Plan

The Rocky Mountain is a large luxury log home floor plan of exceptional detail, commanding scale, and extraordinary specialty spaces that has earned its place as one of the most popular custom log home designs in the Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes collection. With soaring cathedral ceilings that frame breathtaking views of forests and rolling hills from multiple angles, a beautifully appointed two toned kitchen with a granite island and raised snack bar, a first floor primary suite with its own three seasons room, a dedicated home office, a wine room, and a gun and safe room with a concrete ceiling. The Rocky Mountain is a luxury log cabin home of rare depth and distinction that goes far beyond the expected in every direction. This is custom log home design at its most personal, most complete, and most enduringly impressive.

The open concept great room is a space of cathedral proportioned grandeur, flooded with natural light from numerous angles and connected seamlessly to a kitchen of genuine sophistication and a dining area of welcoming warmth and elegance. The first-floor primary bedroom suite is a private sanctuary of extraordinary distinction, featuring its own attached three seasons room that creates an intimate indoor outdoor living experience of rare personal luxury. A dedicated home office provides a beautifully finished and private workspace that keeps professional life effortlessly separated from the gracious flow of the main living areas. First floor laundry ensures that the practical rhythms of daily life are handled with quiet efficiency and grace throughout this remarkable luxury log home floor plan.

The upper loft level commands the full drama of the soaring great room below, offering four generously appointed bedrooms each with their own unique character and finish quality, two full bathrooms, and a beautifully composed reading and sitting area of exceptional warmth and intimacy. The optional lower level introduces a family room, a wine room of outstanding beauty and functionality, a gun and safe room of remarkable security and craftsmanship, and additional living spaces that carry the same fine detail found throughout every floor of this large log home floor plan.

The Rocky Mountain is available in two versions, nearly 4,500 square feet without the lower level, or an expansive footprint of over 6,000 square feet with the optional walkout basement, with 5 bedrooms to 7 bedrooms and 4 to 5 bathrooms depending on configuration, and the option to add an attached or detached garage of any size. For those who seek a luxury mountain home floor plan where specialty spaces, soaring vaulted ceilings, fine craftsmanship, and an open concept living experience of genuine grandeur come together in a home of lasting and deeply personal character, the Rocky Mountain is an extraordinary custom dream home floor plan and one of the most celebrated large log home designs Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes has ever offered.

Rocky Mountain Floor Plan FAQs

What Construction Styles are available for the Rocky Mountain floor plan.
The Rocky Mountain floor plan above is shown as a Traditional Log Home Package (square timbers, full/round-log, half/round-log, and more). However, we can also offer this plan as any of the following construction types (also referred to as packages):

I like this floor plan. However, I would like it flipped the other way around. Can it be flipped?
Absolutely! All of our floor plans are able to be flipped or rotated in any orientation to match the property, sun exposure, and your personal preferences.

Can I add an attached garage to this plan?
Certainly! We can easily add an attached garage to the Rocky Mountain floor plan. Depending on the size of your property and the orientation of the home, you may be able to add several garage stalls.

The Rocky Mountain does not show a basement. Can I get this home with a basement (lower level)?
Yes. Adding a basement is quite simple. And, the added benefit of adding a basement is that it increases your square footage with minimal cost. If you think about it, all you are doing is adding a little more to the foundation and a few support walls and you have nearly doubled the square footage.

I like the Main Floor (first floor) of the Rocky Mountain floor plan. But, I don't need a Loft (second floor) can I get a version without the loft (second floor)?
Yes. We can easily remove the loft, second floor, or a mezzanine. Thereby, converting the home to a ranch style home. (It may reduce the cost of the home as well.)

Can I make changes or customize the Rocky Mountain floor plan to add some features that I would like?
This is where we excel... All of our plans can be modified to meet your design goals. Every log and timber home we sell is custom tailored to your specific wants and needs. In fact, you could give us a hand drawn floor plan and we can engineer the plan specifically for you. Plans on our website are just starting points. Every home we sell ends up being a custom home.
